Disappointed in the corrosion issues I’ve started encountering on my 2018 6x12 enclosed trailer. The side door is corroding at the bottom both inside and out, as well as on the passenger side skin from the fender back. I took the trailer to them to ask about the door and they said it was common but they could sell me a new door…. Why not fix the issue if it’s common? Also had leaked on the back corner since shortly after purchase, and the light bar at the top filled with water and eventually quit working as well. I recently replaced a tire that went flat, only to notice the hubs also have quite a bit of play as well. The trailer isn’t used heavily, once or twice a month. Looking to replace it after a short 5 years already, definitely better options out there.

We purchased two 26' enclosed trailers in September 2020. In less than a month while hauling a load the roof ripped off of the first trailer. We contacted Doolittle immediately and were told they would pay for the repair, offload expense, and U-Haul rental so we could continue our journey. After months of emails back and forth Doolittle refused to pay for anything, stating that it was not covered under their (non existent) "warranty". A month later the roof came off the second trailer with the same costly results.

Both trailers are absolute trash, blowing through tires from uneven wear costing even more money.

These trailers are GARBAGE and the company refuses to refund any of the $37,071.00 we paid for the trailers. It's taken me two years to decide whether to leave this feedback, but my fear for the safety of anyone on the road as well as those who may purchase from this company has compelled me to finally leave a review.

Thank god no one on the road was injured or killed due to the roofs of these trailers ripping off at 75mph!

BUYER BEWARE!

Bought an MSS 5x8 from a dealer in Denver. Absolute garbage. Looks great compared to the awful tractor supply ones. But this thing is a pig in lipstick. Within 5 uses of hauling my atv, both fenders had come off on forest service roads and had to weld them back on. As you can see from my pictures, the steel meshing is barely welded on and all the VERY few spot welds broke within the first load of my atv, making the trailer the most embarrassing, loud thing ever to drive down the road with it vibrating and banging with every bump. Literally every weld on the gate meshing and back end gave away within a couple hauls. All the paint cracks off of the meshing and rust; keep a can of rattle paint on hand after every trip. The only quality thing on it was the steel sides and the gate lies flat when empty. Luckily someone was willing to buy it off me regardless of the problems and then I upgraded to more quality brand.

I bought a Dolittle trailer from Crump auto sales in Perryville Missouri. I took the 120 mile drive and when I got there and seen the trailer. I can say I was impressed. The trailer looked nice and heavy duty.and I loved the solid sides and tool box that I fill with straps. Here’s where everything goes South.
The spring loaded gate holders break easily!. The metal is very thin. And needs to be beefed up with thicker metal. The welds were just Tacked together.
Which I had no choice to lay it down in the bed of the trailer. Making the trailer Useless for my business.
From laying the gate in the trailer Both Springs Broke for the Easy Assist.
After 3 weeks of run around the person at Crumps where I bought this trailer says Call Dolittle. So do I make to make another trip to Dolittle that’s 140 miles from me?
It’s hard to believe that the lights still work. (Crossing Fingers)

Did I say this Trailer is 6 Months old?

My employer bought a bunch of these trailers to haul utv's. May be a decent homeowner trailer but no good for everyday use. They whole hinged tailgate assembly is junk. J hooks that hold the tailgate come undone and tailgate drags going down the road. Metal that holds the j hooks is super thin and breaks. Angle irons in front of trailer were not long enough so they are just overlapped. Wood floor boards were cut too short and are now warping and sticking up in front of trailer. Spend a few more $ and buy a h and h trailer. Wont let me add photos to the review..

Bought a new trailer from them with a 5 year warranty. Chose them as they bragged up the quality of the painting process compared to other trailers. Bought it to haul a show bike and odd errands. It immediately started to rust. Called them and was told to find a body shop. They all laughed and said it would cost more than the trailer. Then the company told me some trailers had a paint defect . No solution. Now it's 3 years old and so rusty the lights fall out now....

UPDATE!!!! After posting this they wanted me to reach out ,send pictures. Have done that. They now continue to say someone will call you, or we will make this right. Then never correspond again. Each time I call a new person promises they will "handle " it.

Was supposed to be having a trailer built. Waited past the time it was to be completed. Come to find out it was built the whole time but just sitting on a stack. Pick up trailer and its missing a jack stand and had rusty spots in a few places. Talked to my salesman again who said he was gonna take care of it.... that was back in June. Horrible customer service overall and pretty sad workmanship

I have the pro series 8220. At first I really like the trailer other then if you so much as looked at it the paint would come off. I have now had the trailer less then a year and pant is almost completely gone (except where I've repainted). All the wiring needs replaced because the wiring crumbles when touched. The "Drive over" fenders and steps on sides are only tack welded in a few places then caulked. Deck boards are breaking from the few times of hauling my mid sized skid steer. Definitely not what I expected when I bought this trailer.

Bought a brand new 22k goose neck with mammoth ramps drove 100 mile. As I was traveling on the highway another vehicle went by and the driver said the trailer is going sideways . Sure enough it is (badly) a rep from doo little called but blew me off. Turns out I had it taken to a trailer manufacturer locally and the said the tandems we're all out of tracking and was eatiy the tires. So absolutely will not buy another from doolittle do nothing. I gave them a chance to fix it. Paid 11k for the trailer and I got blew off

I purchased a 8.5x24 ft enclosed cargo trailer with many customized options a couple years ago and I spent almost $10,000 on it and even after getting a discount on it I have had numerous problems with it, the side door leaking, the side door latch swelling up when it got hot. Too many problems to list. I would never ever buy another trailer from Doolittle again I will take my business elsewhere. There is nothing they could say or do to change my mind about this review.

Nightmare with dump trailer hooked up to newer trucks. 2015 Chevy 1-ton duramax. Driving in these newer model trucks that warn you with a bell and driver display saying trailer disconnected, then trailer connected. Did it 10-15 times every mile. Drove me insane. Doolittle and dealer both throwing arms in the air. Was looked at by dealer and never could find any issues. Was told by Doolittle’s tech support the new trucks use ohms not volts in the electrical system. What? I have many other trailers and none of them ever cause the truck to send a warning signal. I started in on it myself. When I wiggled the brake wires on the back brakes it would send warning to the truck. I cut the back brake wires and the problem was gone. Test drove the truck and no more warning. I pulled off wheel and hub on left side. Found 10ft of wire inside a 6ft axle. Excess wire stuffed in axel. Wire over time rubbed the coating off the wire and was grounding causing the problem. Cut old out and put a 6ft piece in. Problem solved. I didn’t replace the front axle yet. If it starts doing it again that’s the first place I’ll look. Ohms?

Bought a new trailer that had a small issue. The team at Doolittle got together and made it right with me. It’s nice to have an American made company that stands behind their product. A+. I would recommend this company if you are wanting a well built high quality trailer. I looked at several trailers before finding this one that didn’t come close to the quality for the money. Is there cheaper trailers? Yes, but you get what you pay for. A cheep made trailer.

I bought this 6x12 foot enclosed trailer in 2006. It is still going strong. We use it all the time. It has never, ever, let us down. Doolittle parts department people are great to work with. I thought trailers would eventually start leaking. Not this Doolittle trailer. It's still leak free. When I upgrade to a larger trailer, it will be a Doolittle trailer. Thank you for a great product and we will be back!

Totally AWFUL service. Ordered replacement bearings for my trailer straight from the parts/service dept. 10 days ago. They took down my name, mailing address, phone number, charge card info. and I waited on the phone for the card to go through. He said everything went through fine and was all set. I haven’t heard from them, item NOT shipped, and still waiting for parts. Called their number a number of times..... now it just rings. Not even an answering machine. Just rings and eventually disconnects. And I need the bearings to take to a local shop in 3 days to prepare for a month long / over 3,000 mile round trip hauling the trailer.

BUY BEARINGS ELSEWHERE. ABSOLUTELY NOT RELIIBLE!!! ACTUALLY, BETTER YET, STAY AWAY AND DO NOT even buy their trailers either. Bad customer service..... DON’T BUY THEIR PRODUCT.

FIRST EXPERIENCE DEALING WITH THEM...... AND THE LAST!

DO NOT....... BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!!!!

What we ordered was not what we showed up, I should have not let them talk me into keeping what we received. We have had it about four years and hinges are rusting out of the side door. The heater never worked right. It leaks water. You will never get them to look at your trailer or fix what is wrong with it. For a 14k trailer is was very poorly made. No quality control or service. Lets see if the people that gave their trailer 5 stars still think so when they have had it for 4or 5 years.

1/14/17 I Have owned many trailers over the years but of them I still own my two Doolittle trailers a 10ft single utility and a 16ft duel utility. Both have been excellent trailers they have provided 20 plus years of break down Free service and I use my trailers week in and week out. Other than regular maintenance (Bulbs, grease, tires & Brakes) I have never had an issue with either one. I would buy another in a heartbeat but I think ill be passing these two onto my kids.
Pros: overall a very Durable trailer, rough saw Oak floors were standard 20 years ago and have lasted the test of time stored outdoors. Top quality axles and brakes. Strong Fold flat expanded steel gates.
Cons: Keep in mind my trailers are of early 1990 vintage
Paint of 20 years ago faded quickly outdoors. (Paints today are much more durable)

Bought a 6x10 enclosed cargo trailer. Came with radial tires, a wood floor same as used on a snow machine trailer, everything about it is well built and heavy. 3/8" plywood walls inside instead of luan as used by others. Even the safety chains are heavier than others. It has sat out in the rain and not a drop inside.

I am glad I spent the extra money on the Doolittle trailer over a different less expensive national brand.

Absolutely hands down the best trailers built! I have a 2006 Doolittle 10K Xtreme Equipment trailer that I bough new and still own today. I have serviced it and kept it clean, but I have used (and abused it at times) it to no end and it has provided me with absolutely trouble free service. Yes, these are more than the 'China' steel cheapo trailers, but the old verbiage of 'You get what you pay for' applies fully here.

I bought two of these enclosed cargo trailers; 12' x 6', gray and nice looking. One was bought in 2007 and the other in 2008. At that time I truly believed it was one of the best trailers built. Now today 4-12-16 I have one of these trailers has rusted out so bad that the axle broke off the frame and the square tubing has complete rusted out around the frame and you can stick your hand up in the square tube.....I have nothing left......trailer is shot and I can't even sale it. Too top it off Doolittle warranty department won't even give me a call back!! A very disgruntled customer. Zero Star Rating!
